About
Cynthia Jeanette Myers was an American model and actress, best known as Playboy’s Playmate of the Month for the December 1968 issue. She first gained national attention as a teenager when her photos were published after the magazine’s editorial selection; the pictorial, shot in front of the Toledo Museum of Art and titled “Wholly Toledo!”, made her a recognizable figure among American troops during the Vietnam War.
After her magazine debut, Myers went on a promotional tour, worked in Playboy clubs and appeared on the series Playboy After Dark. She moved into film in the late 1960s and early 1970s, with an uncredited appearance in They Shoot Horses, Don't They? and a starring role in Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (1970). She also appeared in Molly and Lawless John (1972) before stepping away from cinema, in part because she repeatedly refused requests for nude scenes.
Throughout her career she remained connected to fashion and entertainment, appearing in the magazine’s calendars and being remembered in its commemorative lists. Later she returned to commercial modeling and maintained an online presence. She lived for many years in Southern California with her family and died in 2011 at age 61.
