Damian David Harris is an English filmmaker known for his work as a director and screenwriter in film and television. Trained in screenwriting at New York University, he began with short films — including Killing Time and Greasy Lake — and made his feature debut with The Rachel Papers, an adaptation of Martin Amis’s novel. Over the course of his career he has also directed episodes for various television series, building a professional focus on narrative direction.
The eldest son of actor Richard Harris and Elizabeth Rees‑Williams, Damian was exposed to the arts early: as a young man he took part in the film Otley and appeared on one of his father’s poetry albums. These early experiences preceded his formal training and his move behind the camera as a director and writer.
His career is notable for literary adaptations and for moving between cinema and television, reflecting a modest but steady authorial presence in the British scene. In his personal life he has had relationships with others in the entertainment industry and is the father of two children.
