About

Dana Barros is a former American professional basketball player who played as a point guard and shooter in the NBA. A graduate of Boston College, where he finished among the school's leading scorers and had his No. 3 jersey retired, he became known in the league for his three-point shooting efficiency and offensive versatility.

After being selected in the first round of the 1989 draft by the Seattle SuperSonics, he played for several franchises — including the Philadelphia 76ers, where he enjoyed his best season in 1994–95: he was selected to the All-Star Game, won the Most Improved Player award, and posted standout averages in points, assists, and three-point percentage. That season also included individual highlights such as a 50-point game and a 25-10-15 triple-double.

He later played as a veteran for the Boston Celtics, also serving as a mentor to young players, and finished his career with respectable averages and a three-point percentage above 40%. Off the court, he managed sports complexes, founded an AAU grassroots organization, and worked as a commentator/analyst for regional Celtics coverage, maintaining a presence in the Massachusetts basketball scene.
