Eilaine Roth

About

Eilaine Roth was a professional baseball player in the United States, playing as an outfielder in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League from 1948 to 1951. Known for her small stature and agility, she served mainly as a reserve hitter and right fielder, and was noted for her speed on the bases.

Born in Michigan City, Indiana, she played alongside her twin sister Elaine during her early career, forming the promotional duo nicknamed “E” and “I.” She began with the Peoria Redwings and, after that team folded, was transferred to the Kalamazoo Lassies, where she reunited with her sister in 1953.

Her most productive season came in 1950, when she appeared in 107 games, recorded 78 hits and stole 64 bases. After the league ended, she remained active in the sport, competing in slow-pitch softball tournaments between 1954 and 1957.

Off the field, she worked for more than twenty years as an inspector in the pharmaceutical industry in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She died in 2011, leaving a legacy tied to the pioneering era of women’s professional baseball in the U.S.
