Fábio Salustino Mesquita de Faria is a Brazilian administrator and politician with a significant career in Rio Grande do Norte. Affiliated with Progressistas (PP), he served four terms as a federal deputy, where he worked on tourism, sport, finance, and science and technology committees and sat on the Chamber’s board, at times serving as interim president. During his terms he sponsored projects aimed at protecting children and adolescents, combating bullying, expanding measures under the Maria da Penha Law, and promoting drug-use prevention initiatives.
In 2020 he was appointed Minister of Communications in the federal government, a post he held until December 2022, overseeing sector policies and the implementation of the ministry after its reestablishment. Earlier, he built a political bench and influence in his state, channeling resources to public security and supporting proposals such as signal jammers in prisons and regulation of commercial practices in the automotive market.
Besides his political career, he has engaged in business activities in the gym sector and in local commercial relationships. His career has also been accompanied by political and ethical questions related to his parliamentary and ministerial conduct.
