About

Ferran Adrià Acosta is a Spanish chef.

He is considered one of the world's best "chefs" and ranks number 2 in the European restaurant ranking.

He began cooking in 1980 as a dishwasher at the Hotel Playafels in Ibiza. Later, the "chef" of the hotel's kitchen taught him traditional Spanish cuisine.

Adrià became an exponent of molecular gastronomy, daring to experiment with new technologies and unexpected textures and flavors.

The "El Bulli" had three stars in the Michelin Guide and was considered one of the best restaurants in the world. In 2005 it placed second in the "Top 50" of "Restaurant" magazine, and achieved first place in 2006, dethroning "The Fat Duck" in England. The restaurant was open from April to September, as Adrià spent the other six months of the year perfecting recipes in his laboratory/workshop, "El Taller", in Barcelona.

He is famous for his thirty-course tasting menu as a synthesis of the arts.
