About

Zhang Jike is a former professional table tennis player from China, known for a relatively short but extremely successful international career. A specialist in the two-winged shakehand grip, he was noted for his speed, low stance and—most notably—what many regard as one of the world’s best backhands, frequently deployed in crucial moments.

His most remarkable achievement was completing the individual Grand Slam—titles at the World Championships, the World Cup and the Olympic Games—in just 445 days, becoming the fourth man in history to complete the trio and the fastest to do so. His titles include the WTTC 2011, the World Cup 2011, the Olympic individual gold in London 2012, and later victories at the WTTC 2013 and World Cup 2014.

Over his career he produced memorable matches against leading figures of the sport such as Ma Long, Timo Boll and Wang Hao, winning decisive encounters at major events and contributing to championship teams. His play left a technical and competitive-intensity legacy that influenced subsequent generations of Chinese and international players.
