Jordan Cofer appears on the record as one of the fatal victims of a mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio, on August 4, 2019. The attack, carried out by Connor Betts, left nine dead and dozens injured near bars in the Oregon Historic District and was one of the deadliest incidents in the state since 1975.
According to reports, the shooter opened fire in a crowded public space using an AR-style pistol with a high-capacity magazine; the attack lasted less than a minute until police arrived and stopped the perpetrator. Victims were struck at various points along the street and taken to area hospitals, while authorities evacuated nearby businesses.
