He has also been curator of several exhibitions, such as A Escrita da Memória in São Paulo, and has collaborated on the curatorial development of museums, such as the Museu da Língua Portuguesa in São Paulo.
Graduated in History from Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos and holding a doctorate from the Universidade de São Paulo, Karnal has publications on history teaching, as well as on History of the Americas and the History of Religions.
