About

Margo, stage name of María Marguerita Guadalupe Teresa Estela Bolado, was a Mexican actress and dancer whose career developed mainly in United States film and television. She appeared in numerous Hollywood films, mostly in supporting roles, notably in titles such as Lost Horizon (1937), The Leopard Man (1943), ¡Viva Zapata! (1952) and I’ll Cry Tomorrow (1955). Her presence helped raise the visibility of Latin American performers in the American film industry of the period.

Beyond the screen, Margo maintained significant family connections in the arts: she was the wife of actor Eddie Albert for four decades and the mother of actor Edward Albert, and had ties by marriage to musician Xavier Cugat. Her professional life also included stage and television work, reflecting a multifaceted career spanning dance and acting.

Margo remained active for several decades, leaving a legacy of representation and professionalism in character and supporting roles. She died in 1985 in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles, of a brain tumor.
