About

Peter Lupus (Peter Nash Lupus Jr.) was an American bodybuilder and actor whose career spanned from the 1950s to the 1990s. A graduate of the Jordan College of Fine Arts at Butler University, he first gained notice in Italian peplum films under the stage name Rock Stevens, playing strongman roles such as Hercules and Goliath. His physical presence—about 1.93 m—and athletic background shaped both his film and television work.

He achieved widespread recognition with the series Mission: Impossible (1966–1973), in which he played Willy Armitage, a role that established him as an action specialist and a resilient supporting figure. Alongside his acting career, he remained active in bodybuilding, remembered for feats of endurance and athletic exhibitions throughout his life.

Lupus also attracted attention offscreen through magazine appearances and roles in a range of films and series, moving between genre cinema and episodic television. His career reflects the tradition of strongman actors who translated sporting prestige into popular culture, leaving a mark on adventure and action television productions.
