Rob Schneider is an American actor, comedian, screenwriter, producer and filmmaker who rose to prominence as a cast member on Saturday Night Live (1990–1994), a period that earned him Emmy nominations. After television, he built a career in mainstream comedy films, starring in commercial hits such as Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, The Animal and The Hot Chick, and frequently appearing in Adam Sandler productions, a collaboration that shaped much of his filmography.
His work often features hapless or awkward characters who undergo bizarre transformations — a recurring device in the comedies in which he appears. He made his directorial debut in 2007 with Big Stan and has credits as a voice actor and producer on animated and comedy projects.
Offscreen, he continued performing stand-up and launched local philanthropic efforts, including the Rob Schneider Music Foundation, aimed at restoring music education in Pacifica schools. His personal life and recent public positions — including statements about vaccines and gender identity — have provoked controversy and drawn media attention, leaving his legacy open to divergent assessments.
