About

Rod Stewart is a British singer and songwriter known for his raspy voice and a distinguished career in rock and pop. He gained prominence with the Jeff Beck Group and Faces before establishing a long solo career.

His first solo album was released in the late 1960s, and *Every Picture Tells a Story* marked his commercial breakthrough, driven by "Maggie May". Throughout the 1970s, he moved between hard rock, folk, soul, and ballads on albums such as *Atlantic Crossing* and *Blondes Have More Fun*.

Stewart remained popular in subsequent decades and reached a new audience with the *Great American Songbook* series. His honors include inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist and as a member of Faces, as well as a British honor for services to music and charity. His vocal style and energetic performances remain hallmarks of his career.
