Tess Daly (Helen Elizabeth Daly) is an English television presenter and former model, best known for more than two decades as co-host of the BBC dance competition show Strictly Come Dancing (2004–2025). Over her media career she became a familiar face across a range of television formats, including entertainment programmes, reality shows and charity telethons, and has taken part in special performances such as the Royal Variety Performance.
Trained on the international catwalk, Daly began in fashion at a young age, working in Tokyo, Paris and New York before moving into presenting. That experience in the entertainment world led her to front shows such as Find Me a Model and Make Me a Supermodel, as well as occasional appearances on news programmes and children’s shows.
The author of novels and the commercial face of beauty and wellness campaigns, Daly also co-founded the swimwear label Naia Beach. Her work in television and the publishing and advertising markets earned her public recognition; in 2025 she was awarded an MBE for services to broadcasting.
Privately, she is noted for the steadiness of her public career and long-standing professional partnerships, having shared presenting duties on Strictly with figures such as Bruce Forsyth and Claudia Winkleman, and maintaining a regular presence at television events and charitable initiatives.
