About

Jean-Pierre Foucault is a French radio and television host whose career began in the 1960s. He became a prominent figure in French broadcasting, working for stations such as RMC, RTL and Europe 1 and hosting popular programs that reached several generations.

On radio, he presented morning shows and other flagship programs, and held programming director roles. On television, he became known for high‑rating successes such as Sacrée Soirée, L'Académie des neuf, Intervilles, the Miss France pageants and, above all, Qui veut gagner des millions?, the French version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, which cemented his public image.

Noted for his longevity on France's primary television network — at one point signing an open‑ended contract — Foucault also took part in institutional and cultural initiatives, including a voluntary presidency of the training center of Olympique de Marseille. His career combines popular entertainment with a sustained media presence, earning him widespread recognition and a legacy as one of French television's longest‑serving hosts.
