About

Prem Rawat (Prem Pal Singh Rawat) is a spiritual leader born in India, known for presenting teachings on “inner peace” since childhood through four meditation techniques he calls Knowledge. He became an international public figure while still young, traveling to the West in the early 1970s and drawing tens of thousands of followers and press attention, particularly within the era’s countercultural movements.

In the following years he faced family conflicts and organizational restructurings that changed his work: he relinquished the title of “Guru,” relaxed traditional religious apparatus, and dissolved ashram structures in the West in the early 1980s. Those changes marked a shift from a traditional religious style to a more Westernized, communicative approach.

In 2001 he founded the Prem Rawat Foundation, which disseminates his message in dozens of countries through texts, videos and programs, as well as humanitarian initiatives. His current public activity focuses on formats accessible to interested audiences, such as the so‑called “Keys,” aimed at sharing practices of self‑knowledge and promoting inner peace.
