Princess Ariane of the Netherlands is the youngest daughter of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima, and is known as part of the younger generation of the House of Orange-Nassau. Since 2013 she has held the third position in the line of succession to the Dutch throne, after her sisters Catharina-Amalia and Alexia, and bears the official styles granted by royal decree to the descendants of the Prince of Orange.
Raised in the palace environment of The Hague, Ariane received her early education at Christelijk Gymnasium Sorghvliet and, in 2023, the Royal House announced her transfer to UWC Atlantic College in Italy for secondary education, an institution attended by members of other royal families. She speaks Dutch, English and Spanish, reflecting her family's international background.
Alongside public duties and attendance at ceremonies such as King’s Day, she maintains personal interests in hockey, guitar, dance, drawing and tennis. The family keeps a reserved stance on the daughters’ private lives, allowing only annual official photo sessions and appealing to the press for respect.
