About

Tony Romo is a former National Football League quarterback who spent the bulk of his career with the Dallas Cowboys and became a sports commentator for CBS after retiring in 2017. A product of Eastern Illinois University, he entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2003 and quickly rose through the roster to become the starter in 2006, distinguishing himself with high‑producing seasons and offensive leadership.

As a starter, Romo put up notable numbers, including seasons with more than 4,000 passing yards and campaigns in which he ranked among the league’s leading passers. He helped power winning Cowboys seasons and produced decisive moments against prominent opponents, though he also faced criticism for performances in key games and in the playoffs.

After ending his playing career, Romo successfully transitioned to television broadcasting, replacing veterans on CBS’s team and establishing himself as the network’s lead analyst alongside Jim Nantz. His legacy combines individual on‑field achievements with continuing visibility and influence in the American sports landscape.
