About

Colin James Hay is a Scottish musician, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and singer whose career was established as the leader and principal songwriter of the rock band Men at Work and, later, as a solo artist. He moved to Australia in his teens, where he joined the lineup that released international hits such as "Down Under"; his work with the band helped shape the pop-rock scene of the 1980s and brought global recognition, including a performance at the closing ceremony of the Sydney Olympics (2000).

After the end of the group's initial phase, Hay developed an extensive solo catalog, releasing more than fifteen albums on independent labels and major companies such as Sony/CBS, MCA/Universal and, later, the American Compass Records. His songs gained renewed visibility in the 2000s through inclusion in film soundtracks and cinematic projects, which helped him regain an audience.

Colin Hay has also collaborated with established artists, joining Ringo Starr’s All Starr Band at various times and touring and recording with musicians such as Paul Carrack and John Waite. He remains active as a performer and touring artist, alternating Men at Work material with his own songs, and issuing reissues and reinterpretations that reflect his long career.
